SUFU 2017: Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction Research Network
Scottsdale, Arizona USA (UroToday.com) Dr. Quentin Clemens of the University of Michigan Medical Center presented an update on symptoms from the Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction Research Network, which is a National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases-funded research system. Its goals include identifying and explaining the subtypes of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms and improving data derived from patients experiencing lower urinary tract symptoms by developing new patient questionnaires.
SUFU 2017: Best Practice Policy Statement on Urodynamic Antibiotic Prophylaxis in the Non-Index Patient
Dr. Anne P. Cameron of the University of Michigan presented the SUFU Best Practice Policy Statement on Urodynamic Antibiotic Prophylaxis in the Non-Index Patient. She outlined the guideline statements and the evidence they contain emphasizing that many patients who undergo urodynamics have risk factors for urinary tract infections (UTIs) and/or are vulnerable to significant morbidity if a UTI was to occur.
