Nicolas Mottet, MD presents on the optimal surgery for locally advanced and high-risk disease at the 2017 Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC). Laparoscopic and robot-assisted radical prostatectomy are used commonly. In experienced hands, the results of these approaches appear comparable to open surgical approaches. Nicolas also addresses nerve-sparing surgery in intermediate-and high-risk disease, the use of multi parametric MRI as a decision tool, and nodal dissection.
