Renowned urologist appointed president-elect of LUGPA

Longtime board member Neal Shore, M.D. makes prestigious transition

Dr. Neal Shore of Atlantic Urology Clinics, LLC, a 21st Century Oncology affiliate, was recently appointed President-Elect of the Large Urology Group Practice Association (LUGPA), which seeks to provide urologists with all the tools they need to effectively care for patients.

An internationally recognized expert in systemic therapies for patients with advanced urologic cancers, Dr. Shore serves as the National Urology Research Director for 21st Century Oncology. In this role, he has taught continuing medical education courses with the American Urological Association (AUA), serving as Co-Director for five courses through the association’s Office of Education.

Having an extensive clinical research and patient care background, Dr. Shore has held many prestigious positions leading to his role as President-Elect of LUGPA. He is currently on the board for the Society of Urologic Oncology, Urology Times and Carolina Urologic Research Center, among other urology boards and associations.

Dr. Shore received both his Bachelor of Arts in public policy sciences and his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency at The New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center in General Surgery, and became Chief Resident of Urology.

Dr. Shore was a founding board member of LUGPA in 2008. He was appointed secretary of the organization in 2014. He will serve as President-Elect for 2015.
