We thank the authors for their thoughtful comments on our multicenter cohort study examining the association between aging and nocturnal polyuria in patients with nocturia.
We agree that fluid intake, sleep status, renal function, lower extremity edema, comorbidities, and concomitant medications are important factors in evaluating nocturnal polyuria, particularly in older adults. Although voiding diaries provide detailed information on voiding time and voided volume, these additional clinical parameters were not consistently available in our retrospective multicenter dataset. Future prospective studies using standardized data collection methods will be necessary to further clarify the mechanisms underlying nocturnal polyuria and improve individualized clinical assessment and management.
We appreciate these constructive comments and believe that future standardized prospective studies will help clarify the mechanisms of nocturnal polyuria and improve individualized management in older adults.
