| Indication of Catheterization for Intermittent Catheters (IC) |

| Intermittent catheterization (IC) is the “gold standard” for individuals with bladder dysfunction caused by neurologic or non-neurologic causes, a significant and growing population in the United States. Intermittent catheterization is the recommended method for individuals who are unable to void or completely empty the bladder. According to the 6th International Consultation on Incontinence, IC has replaced long-term indwelling urinary catheterization for patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) resulting in incomplete bladder emptying as it is associated with less urologic and non-urologic complications. |

| Overactive bladder (OAB) is a syndrome and as such may have one or more etiologies. Several hypotheses have been proposed to explain the pathophysiology and etiology of OAB and detrusor overactivity (DO) which are largely centered around the neurogenic and myogenic etiologies, but to date, it is not clear which of these explains most of the available data. While OAB is a symptomatic diagnosis, DO is a urodynamic finding. Many patients with OAB do not have DO though most patients with DO do indeed have symptoms of OAB. It is not clear why this disparity should exist.

| This was a cross-sectional, multi-centered, clinical study of adult men and women performing intermittent self-catheterization (ISC) conducted in six clinical sites in the US. Eligible patients were English-speaking adults who had been independently performing ISC for at least 6 months.

| The Evaluation of a Novel Non-Surgical, Wearable, Neuromodulation System for Use in the Home on Patients With Overactive Bladder

| This was a prospective, open-label study evaluating a non-surgical wearable neuromodulation therapy system with objective feedback of nerve activation. The study was conducted to assess the therapy’s tolerability, usability, and satisfaction. This therapy is a custom-fitted garment embedded with electrodes, used transcutaneously to stimulate the tibial nerve and record electromyography (EMG) signals from the sole of the foot.

| The aim of this study was to use Amazon MTurk to identify research topics prioritized by patients with overactive bladder (OAB). Amazon MTurk is a crowdsourcing platform. Users were invited to complete a survey on OAB Research. The Overactive Bladder Awareness Tool – 3 item (OABV3) was used to screen participants. Those that scored 4 or greater took a research prioritization survey.
