| Artificial Intelligence PET Interpretation vs Human Specialists: The LATAM Study
|
| Diego Barreiro, MD
|
| Diego Barreiro discussed the LATAM study assessing artificial intelligence PET interpretation versus human specialists. The interpretation of the total volume of disease in PET may help with decision-making in mCRPC. Furthermore, artificial intelligence could help quantify all lesions, measuring the total tumor volume and the percentage of increase or response.

| Harm-to-Benefit of Three Decades of Prostate Cancer Screening in Black Men |
| Spyridon Basourakos, MD |
| In a podium presentation in the Late-Breaking Abstracts session at the 2022 American Urologic Association Annual Meeting held in New Orleans and virtually, Dr. Basourakos presented on the harm-to-benefit ration of prostate cancer screening in Black men over the past three decades. Prostate cancer screening, using serum prostate-specific antigen testing, has profoundly impacted the epidemiology of prostate cancer in the US, increasing the incidence and decreasing mortality. |

|
| Evaluating Cardiovascular Risk in Men Starting Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer |
| Benjamin Lowentritt, MD |
| Ben Lowentritt presented results of a real world study assessing the association between risk factors for cardiovascular (CV) disease and future CV events among men receiving androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for prostate cancer. While ADT has been the foundation of advanced prostate cancer treatment for decades, since 2010, the FDA has required warnings for risk of cardiovascular (CV) disease in the labeling of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) receptor agonists. |

| Adverse Events Related to Darolutamide Treatment: Analysis of “Real Life” Data From EudraVigilance and the FDA Database Entries
|
| Antonio Cicione, MD
|
| Antonio Cicione provided an analysis reporting real world adverse event results with the use of darolutamide. Darolutamide, an oral androgen receptor inhibitor, has been approved for the treatment of patients with nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC). This approval was based on significant improvements in metastasis-free survival (MFS) in the ARAMIS clinical trial.

| Optimizing Timing And Indications For 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT In Patients With Biochemical Recurrent Prostate Cancer After Radical Prostatectomy |
| Daniele Robesti, MD |
Daniel Robesti discussed work examining the optimal role of 68Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT in patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP). While PSMA-PET/CT is gaining an increasingly large role in this disease space, selecting most appropriate patients to undergo this imaging is important to spare low risk patients from a potentially unnecessary staging procedure.

| The Key Role Of Concomitant ADT On The Efficacy Of Imaging Guided Treatments In Men With Biochemical Recurrent Prostate Cancer After Radical Prostatectomy And Positive 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT Scan |
| Daniele Robesti, MD
|
| In a moderated poster presentation at the 2022 American Urologic Association Annual Meeting held in New Orleans and virtually, Daniel Robesti discussed the role of concomitant androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) in patients undergoing image guided therapy (IGT) for 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT detected recurrence disease following radical prostatectomy. While there has been literature demonstrating a benefit to the addition of ADT to salvage radiotherapy, no study has addressed the role of this combined treatment approach in patients with recurrence disease diagnosed by 68Ga-PSMA PET. |

Prostate Cancer: Localized: Radiation Therapy
|
|
| Urinary Function Following High Dose Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy for Clinically Localized Prostate Cancer
|
| Shannon McNall, MD, BS
|
| Shannon McNall and team presented a thought-provoking study that investigated prostate cancer treatment. External beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is a common treatment for prostate cancer. This procedure is performed among 1/3 of prostate cancer cases for men in the United States. With treatment, mortality rates for prostate cancer decrease which puts an emphasis on a treatment’s side effects.

| Prostate Cancer: Localized: Surgical Therapy II |
| Is Capsular Abutment on MRI a Predictor of Extraprostatic Extension (EPE) on Radical Prostatectomy? |
| Mohammad Siddiqui, MD |
| Mohammad Siddiqui and colleagues presenting results of their study investigating whether the presence of capsular ‘abutment’ on pre-operative mpMRI is an indication of prostate pathology in cancerous forms. Read alone on MRI, the presence or absence of “capsular abutment” was a poor indicator of extra-prostatic extension on final pathology. |

| Prostate Cancer: Detection & Screening IV |
| Update From the PEDAL Trial: A Prospective Single Arm Paired Comparison of Ability To Diagnose and Locate Prostate Cancer Between Multiparametric MRI and 18F-PSMA-PET/CT
|
| Vy Tran, MD
|
| In a podium presentation at the American Urologic Association Annual Meeting held in New Orleans and virtually, Dr. Tran presented an update on the PEDAL trial comparing multiparametric MRI and 18F-DCFPyl prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-PET/CT in the diagnosis and localization of prostate cancer.

|
| From Biopsy to Diagnosis in 30 Min: Remote Instant Prostate Pathology Based on Artificial Intelligence Enhanced Ultrasound (AI-US) |
| Edouard Trabulsi, MD |
| In a podium presentation at the 2022 American Urologic Association Annual Meeting held in New Orleans and virtually, Dr. Trabulsi presented on behalf of Dr. Aljabli and Dr. Loch their work focusing on a rapid turn around for prostate cancer diagnosis. A rapid histopathologic evaluation facilitating early diagnosis of prostate cancer may assist with personalization of care and certainly can reduce the patient-borne anxiety of waiting for test results. |

| Prostate Cancer: Localized: Active Surveillance |
| Preference Elicitation and Treatment Decision Making Among Men Diagnosed with Localized Prostate Cancer: Results from the Healium Trial |
| Michael Diefenbach, Ph.D. |
| Michael Diefenbach presented results of the Healium trial assessing treatment decision making in men with localized prostate cancer. This is a disease space in which treatment decision-making is complex and highly influenced by patients’ personal preferences. However, these important personal preferences are rarely comprehensively assessed in the clinical encounter and, thus, are not fully incorporated in the treatment selection process. |

|
| Active Surveillance for Low-Risk Prostate Cancer: Time Trends and Variation in the AUA Quality (AQUA) Registry
|
| Matthew Cooperberg, MD |
| Matthew Cooperberg presented an assessment of the uptake of active surveillance in the United States based on data from the AUA Quality (AQUA) Registry. This is relevant as there has been relatively slow and variable uptake of this treatment approach for low-risk prostate cancer in the United States, despite being widely endorsed by major guidelines. |

|
| Upfront MRI Is the New Standard, Have Confirmatory Biopsies Become Obsolete? |
| Ivo De Vos, MD, MSc |
| In a podium presentation at the 2022 American Urologic Association Annual Meeting held in New Orleans and virtually, Dr. De Vos discussed the question of whether confirmatory biopsies are still required for patients on active surveillance, given the widespread utilization of upfront magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prior to diagnostic biopsy. |
