Areas of focus for this discussion included (i) CIS, (ii) T1 bladder cancer, (iii) multimodality therapy for invasive disease, and (iv) advances for metastatic bladder cancer.

| Anne Schuckman discussed blue light cystoscopy for bladder cancer and several of her tips and tricks. Dr. Schuckman notes that there are over 75,000 new bladder cancer diagnoses per year, leading to more than 15,000 deaths. The prevalence of bladder cancer is >550,000 cases, making it the highest per capita treatment cost due to recurrent disease and multiple recurrences.

| BCG vs Chemohyperthermia with Mitomycin C for High-Risk Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Carcinoma: Preliminary Results of HIVEC-HR Randomized Clinical Trial

| At the 2020 AUA virtual annual meeting, Dr. Guerrero-Ramos and colleagues presented preliminary results of this trial since randomization had been completed. This study was an open pilot randomized clinical trial 1:1 including patients with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer according to EAU Guidelines. Patients with CIS, intolerance or contraindication for receiving BCG or mitomycin C were excluded.
