Convatec GentleCath™ Glide No-Touch Catheters
Diane K. Newman, DNP, CRNP, FAAN, BCB-PMD
| Diane Newman highlights the Convatec GentleCath™ Glide No-touch catheters. No-touch catheters also referred to as touch-free catheters are designed to keep the process of self-catheterization more sterile.

| Patient Report of Intermittent Catheterization Experience (PRICE) Study
| Daniel Roberson, Ariana Smith, Justin Ziemba et al.
| This was a cross-sectional, multi-centered, clinical study of adult men and women performing intermittent self-catheterization (ISC) conducted in six clinical sites in the US. Eligible patients were English-speaking adults who had been independently performing ISC for at least 6 months.

| Efficacy of Antibiotic Prophylaxis Among Intermittent Catheter Users with Different Neurologic Diseases: A Secondary Analysis of the AnTIC Trial
| Blayne Welk, Holly Fisher, Thomas Chadwick, and Chris Harding
| This study was a secondary analysis of community dwelling participants to assess the relative reduction in UTIs among people with different neurologic diseases and intermittent catheter use and to determine if UTIs impacted renal function. These researchers concluded that continuous antibiotic prophylaxis may be more effective for certain patient populations with neurogenic diseases.

| Clean Intermittent Catheterization Revisited - Beyond the Abstract
| Eliza Lamin, MD, and Diane Newman, DNP, CRNP, FAAN, BCB-PMD
| Intermittent Self-Catheterization (ISC) is a great option for patients who are unable to completely empty their bladders. Providers have an important role in encouraging their patients to keep up with ISC and this review article aims to update providers on the most current literature regarding IC and practical clinical application.

| Impact of Early Self-Clean Intermittent Catheterization in Orthotopic Ileal Neobladder: Prospective Randomized Study to Evaluate Functional Outcomes, Continence Status and Urinary Tract Infections - Beyond the Abstract
| Antonio Pastore, MD, Ph.D., Yazan Al Salhi, MD, & Andrea Fuschi, MD
| The results of the present study, even limited by the small sample size and short-term follow-up period, represent the first encouraging suggestion that early intermittent catheterization of patients submitted to ONB might be related to better voiding efficiency and bladder emptying with consequent reduced UTI episodes and improved urinary continence. Larger prospective multicenter studies with longer follow up are needed to confirm the results.
