Radical Prostatectomy vs Radiation and ADT for Prostate Cancer: How Good is the Evidence? - Mack Roach

Mack Roach, III, MD dicusses what is known in radical prostatectomy and radiation and opens this presentation sharing results published recently where the most reliable studies suggest that the differences in 10-year cause-specific survival (CSS) between radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy are small, possible <1%.  Further he presents changes in the treatments of radiation therapy in prostate cancer including results using brachytherpy boosted.  The RTOG 0924 is currently enrolling (>1440 patients enrolled and will enroll 2580 patients) and is evaluating the role of whole pelvic radiotherapy for prostate cancer.  (This presentation is 8:37).
