The frontline treatment for localized muscle-invasive bladder carcinoma (MIBC) is radical cystectomy. However, a significant percentage of this population is elderly with either severe co-morbidities or suboptimal general health, increasing the per- and post-operative risk when undergoing a radical cystectomy.
