The aim of this study was to investigate the natural variation in the antibiotic sensitivity, biofilm formation and virulence among Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from the catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) from a single centre.
The incidence of urinary tract infection (UTI) after kidney transplantation (KT) caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria is growing. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of UTI caused by carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (CR-GNB) in the survival of graft and recipients following KT.
Complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs) are among the most frequent health-care-associated infections. In patients with cUTI, Pseudomonas aeruginosa deserves special attention, since it can affect patients with serious underlying conditions.
