Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and one of the leading causes of cancer death among men in the Western countries.
The aim of the present analysis is to assess the cancer burden in order to ensure accurate strategies for chemoprevention and treatment, including the major therapeutic approaches for localized high-risk disease - surgery and radiation therapy - and quality of life issues related to each option.
