UIJ - Editorial Letter Print E-mail

Editorial Letter Editorial Team About UroToday International Journal (UIJ)
Karl-Erik Andersson MD, PhD

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the second issue of UIJ, the first to have the format that will be used in upcoming issues. UIJ addresses a wide urological audience, which is also reflected in the present issue. The articles address secretory activities of prostatic adenomatous hyperplasia and cancer, sequelae after prostatic vaporization and its resolution, cataract surgery in BPH patients treated with alpha blockers, experiences with telementoring in urodynamics, and an interesting case report on extravesical shrapnel migration into the bladder. Finally, recent advances in bladder pharmacology are reviewed, and the potential of new possible treatments of LUTS/OAB are discussed.

UIJ addresses a wide audience, and it reaches a truly international readership as well. Its aim is to elevate the access to relevant urology science to professionals around the world. We intend to contribute to an environment where easy access to relevant information is available free of charge throughout the globe. In order to achieve this objective, UIJ never charges authors who submit articles. Additionally, we are pleased to offer linguistic and grammatical editorial support to those who require assistance with the English in their manuscripts. UIJ is not yet listed in PubMed, but it is still possible to refer to articles published in UIJ by using the DOI numbers given to each text, figure, and table while the Medline application is in process.

On behalf of the Editorial team, I thank the contributors of this issue, as well as the reviewers who subjected each article to a fair and timely peer review. We hope that this issue will stimulate professionals throughout all fields of urology towards further efforts, and we welcome future contributors to our journal. We are delighted to see readers embrace what UIJ has to offer and look forward to receiving feedback.

Kind regards,

K-E Andersson
