Submitting Commentary for “Beyond the Abstract”

If your journal abstract has been published on, we would like to invite you, your co-authors, or others you may deem qualified, to provide supplemental commentary on your clinical investigation. The commentary may include additional evaluation of the methodology, trial limitations, or other concepts not fully expressed in the abstract.

Your commentary will become a part of Beyond the Abstract,  a regular feature published on The goal of this program is to provide further translation, clarification and added value to your scientific abstract materials and to strengthen our online professional urology community. Since the inception of this initiative in October 2007, the reception from our readership has been overwhelmingly positive. The commentary has created a lively discourse and the Beyond the Abstract pages have proved to be some of the most visited on our site. Submissions should be made in the form of text documents and may be augmented with audio/visual materials such as graphics, videos1, slides2, and/or audio3, if appropriate.   1. The preferred video format is .swf with a navigational skin (play, stop, etc.) and should include an accompanying Flash file (.flv). The size of the .flv file should not exceed 100MB.
  2. The preferred format for slides is .ppt.
  3. The preferred format for audio files is .mp3. Audio may be of any length.
