Expert Faculty Panel:

Fred Saad, MD, FRCS (Co-Chair) is Professor of Surgery/Urology at the University of Montreal and holds the University of Montreal Chair in Prostate Cancer. He is Director of Urologic Oncology and the Prostate Cancer Research Laboratory at The University of Montreal Hospital Centre. He presently coordinates over 30 clinical and basic research projects in urologic oncology. He sits on the executive committee of the NCIC and is chairman elect of the NCIC-GU group and the Canadian Uro-Oncology group. He is secretary treasurer of the G-U Global Research Group and the Canadian Prostate Health Council. He has published over 150 articles and book chapters related to urologic oncology. Dr Saad sits on 8 editorial boards and serves as a reviewer for over 30 medical journals. He has been an invited speaker/professor over 200 times in 25 countries due to his involvement in research and medical education.

Cora N. Sternberg, MD, FACP (Co-Chair) is a leading international oncologist and currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Medical Oncology at the San Camillo Forlanini Hospitals in Rome, Italy. Medical Advisor Dr. Sternberg is licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, Austria and Italy. Dr. Sternberg received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Sternberg received her M.D. from The University of Pennsylvania in 1977 and an M.D. from The University of Rome, La Sapienza, Rome, Italy, also Summa Cum Laude, in 1989. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Tuft's University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sternberg has distinguished herself over the years with the following honors: Phi Beta Kappa at University of Pennsylvania in 1972; Research Fellowship, Section of Immunology, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland 1976 through 1977; American Cancer Society Career Development Award 1987 to 1988; Fellow of the American College of Physicians 1989; European Community Grant - Standards, Biomeasures and Testing Programme - Measurement of hematogenous micrometasteses associated with prostate cancer by RT/PCR and DNA probe detection of prostate specific antigen (PSA) RNA 1996.

John M. Fitzpatrick, MD is a Professor of Surgery and Consultant Urologist at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital & College, Dublin, Ireland. Professor Fitzpatrick has performed 45 visiting professorships in the United States and other countries throughout the world. He has also given 167 guest lectures throughout the world. He has produced 260 peer reviewed publications, 74 book chapters, has edited 6 journal editions, and published 12 books.

Professor Fitzpatrick is on the editorial board of 25 journals, and is Editor-in-Chief of the BJU International. He is President of the Irish Society Urology, is immediate Past President of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and is on the UroToday.com Editorial Board.

Mario A. Eisenberger, MD is Professor of Oncology and Urology at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Eisenberger received his MD from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He completed a residency in medicine and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Michael Reese Hospital, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Miami and the Comprehensive Cancer Center for the State of Florida.

Dr. Eisenberger has served on the faculty at the University of Miami, was a senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute, and was a professor of medicine and oncology at the University of Maryland. He is currently a professor of urology and the R. Dale Hughes Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Eisenberger is active in numerous national and regional organizations and has published widely. His current research focuses on prostate cancer.

Kurt Miller, MD serves as Professor and Chairman of Urology at the Benjamin Franklin Medical Center, Charité, Berlin, Germany. Dr. Miller received his medical degree from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Miller served in the German army as a general practitioner. After completing his military service, Dr. Miller completed surgical and urology training at the University of Stuttgart in Germany.

Since 1998, Dr. Miller has been chairman of the Association of Urologic Oncology and was a member of the board of the German Urological Association from 2001 to 2003. His main research interest is uro-oncology (prostate cancer and bladder cancer). Dr. Miller is the author or coauthor of more than 130 publications and coeditor of the German Textbook of Urology. He also serves as a reviewer for the German Research Association and for several scientific journals. Dr. Miller has been the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials in uro-oncology.

Per-Anders Abrahamsson,MD, PHD is a Professor of Urology at Lund University, Chairman of the Department of Urology at Malmö University Hospital, Sweden, and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Urology, University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, New York, USA. Dr. Abrahamsson is since 2004 Adjunct Secretary-General in the European Association of Urology, and is in charge of the organization’s research activities.He is author of 275 scientific publications including book chapters and books, and member of the Editorial Boards of several scientific journals. Dr. Abrahamsson has been main organizer of international conferences, is a frequently invited speaker at scientific meetings, and has received a number of national and international awards.

Manfred Wirth, MD is a Full Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology at the Medical School of Carl Gustav Carus, Technical University of Dresden, Germany. He is a member of the Executive Board of the European Association of Urology and since 2004 has been a member of the Board of the German Society of Urology. Professor Dr. Wirth has published over 111 original scientific articles, 42 book contributions, 6 books and several other publications.

Heather A. Payne, MD is a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at the Meyerstein Institute of Oncology, University College Hospital, London, UK. specializing in cancer and clinical haematology services She is a member of the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Advisory and Awards Committee.

Freddie C. Hamdy, MD, FRCSEd is Professor and Head of Urology of the Academic Urology Unit, University of Sheffield, UK. Dr. Hamdy qualified from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, in 1982. He completed his basic surgical training in the UK, and entered urological training in 1990. In 1993 he obtained his MD from the University of Sheffield, and was appointed Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle until 1998. During that time, he consolidated his clinical and research interest in uro-oncology. In 1999, he was appointed as founding Chair of Urology at the University of Sheffield, establishing the Academic Urology Unit. He received the Crystal Matula award from the European Association of Urology in 1996, and the Golden Telescope Award from the British Association of Urological Surgeons in 2002.

Peter F. A. Mulders,MD, PhD is the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology at Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands specializing in General urology and Oncological urology. Dr Mulders recieved his medical training at the University of Nijmegen and hs urology training at Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam; University Medical Centre Nijmegen, Post-doctoral fellowship Oncological Urology, UCLA, Los Angeles, USA

Ronald M. Bukowski, MD is the Director of Experimental Therapeutics at the Cleveland Clinic CICF Taussig Cancer Center. Dr. Bukowski also is a Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University Medical School and Medical Director of the Kidney Cancer Association. Since 2002, Dr. Bukowski has published work in over 15 peer review journals
