A very compact Congress location awaits in the new Dresden Exhibition Center, which is reachable in short time from all central points of the city via the bus connections. Fitness-enthusiasts can enjoy the footpath along the Elbe River from the city center. I would like to ask you to note that this time the Congress will already begin on Wednesday afternoon with the qualified continued education which will be mainly organized by the research group. The birth of urology is primarily thanks to the development of new and modern techniques, for example endoscopy which was invented by Maximilian Nitze in Dresden, and for the contrast agent for Urography. Extracorporeal shock-waves lithotripsy, Endourology and other innovative operation techniques like the percutaneous Nephro Litholapaxy, complex urinary derivation, or the first ever Laparoscopy performed with urological instruments, have all shaped Urology as a modern profession. Through robot technology and the future focused diagnostics and therapy, which will change our profession through body-imaging controlled treatments, we stand before new and economic challenges. With it comes continual change in the provision with care and health services, for example the increasing Center creation. The goal of the Congress, themed “Urology under change” is to discuss the whole spectrum of our specialty field with you. The personal experience exchange and the possibility to specifically inquire about something cannot be replaced with any modern medium. |
