It is my honour and great pleasure to invite you, the CFAS members, future members, patients and industry to Halifax, Nova Scotia this fall, for the 53rd Annual Meeting of the CFAS.

The host site is the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, with its prime location on the waterfront, minutes away from the berth of the Bluenose and many other of Halifax’s historic attractions.

The conference dates of September 26 to 29 are a little earlier than usual, so please mark your calendars now and plan to attend!

The theme of this year's conference is
“Quality of Care; Quality of Life”. These
elements will be reflected both in the science and experience at the conference. The organizing committee has worked diligently, taking into account your feedback from 2005 and 2006’s meetings, to provide you with many opportunities for scientific learning and interaction. These include sessions on clinical REI, andrology, ethics and the law, complementary medicine, ART and basic laboratory science, communication with patients and maintaining a healthy workplace.

Round-table discussions will conclude many symposia, drawing delegates and speakers together. There will be time between sessions to mingle and share ideas. The poster sessions will be given special attention, reflecting the many hours invested in projects that CFAS members will present.

My overriding goal as Chair of the 2007 meeting is to provide delegates and friends with high quality science but also time and space for social interaction. The CFAS Annual Meeting provides us with a unique opportunity to meet, share ideas and have some fun.
