  • Physical examination may reveal flank ecchymosis, an adynamic ileus, and hypotension
  • Radiographic evaluation is helpful and delineation of the exact nature of the retroperitoneal bleed can be made using IVU, US, CT, and/or MRI.
  • These same evaluating parameters should be used to monitor resolution of the bleed hematoma.
