This review is based on presentations and discussions by European experts in urology and oncology at a European symposium on prostate cancer management, and discusses the increasing role of PSA forms in diagnosing and assessing treatment efficacy in prostate cancer, the importance of patient education and shared decision-making in decision analyses about management choices, and the role of risk-assessment tools in predicting treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
