CANCUN, MEXICO (UroToday.com) - Coverage of the 25th Annual World Congress of Endourology and SWL - Cancun, Mexico - Wednesday October 31st 2007 The group from Washington University presented there results of the long term follow-up of laparoscopic renal cyst decortication for ADPKD. At 6 months follow up, 78% had greater than 50% relief of pain and this result was durable in 57% at a mean follow up of 40 months. At the same interval, 12% and 13% respectively had no reduction or an increase in pain. With > 40 months follow up, the creatinine levels remained stable and there was no change in blood pressure. Laparoscopic cyst decortication appears to provide durable pain relief in many patients with ADPKD. Session: Laparoscopy: Kidney I
