Gerard Amarenco, MD, Professor
Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurologic Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology and the Urodynamic laboratory
Dr. Gerard Amarenco was born and raised in France. He received his medical degree from the University of Paris in 1982. In 1985 he obtained a specialist degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurologic Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology and Urodynamic laboratory in Rothschild Hospital (Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris).
He is a member of many international societies including the International Continence Society, French urodynamic Society, French MPR Society. He is president of the SIFUD-PP, the french urodynamic society. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals including European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and pelvi-perineologie. During his career, Dr. Amarenco has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed international journals.

Walter Artibani, MD
Professor and Chairman of Department of Urology
Walter Artibani obtained the degree in Medicine and Surgery in Firenze, 1973. He trained as urologist at the Institute of Urology of the University of Padova, working there from 1977, being appointed as Associate Professor of Urology in 1985. In 1994 he was appointed as Full Professor of Urology and moved to the University of Modena where he was the Director of the School of Urology and of the Urologic Unit at the University Hospital. From 2000 to 2004 he was Professor of Urology, Director of the School of Urology and chairman of the Urologic Unit at the University Hospital of Verona. Since 2005 he is Professor of Urology and Director of the School of Urology at the University of Padova, and chairman of the Urologic Unit at the University Hospital of Padova.
He is member of several scientific societies: European Urological Association, International Continence Society, Société Internationale d’Urologie, American Urological Association (corresponding member since 1988), Italian Urological Society, Italian Urodynamics Society. He is honorary member of the German, Polish and Dutch Society of Urology.
He was member of the Scientific Committee of the International Continence Society (ICS) from 1992 to 1994 and President of the ICS Scientific Committee in 1993. In March 2007 he was elected adjunct general secretary of EAU.
He is a general urologist with special interest in functional urology (urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders and outflow obstruction), reconstructive surgery (urinary diversion and pelvic floor surgery) and recently robot-assisted laparoscopy.
He is particularly interested in urological applications of evidence based medicine, quality control and continuous professional development.

Clive Bartram, MD
Clive Bartram worked at St Mark’s Hospital, London, as a radiologist until retiring from the NHS in 2004. He has a particular interest in pelvic floor disorders and pioneered endoanal ultrasound. Mainly for this work he was promoted to honorary Professor of GI Radiology in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College in 1999. He is still working actively in private practice in London.

Mario De Gennaro, MD
Dr. Mario De Gennaro received his medical degree from Catholic University of Rome in 1976 where he subsequently got his training in Urology, in 1979. From 1978 he served as Paediatric Surgeon at Bambino Gesù Children Hospital of Rome, where he initiated a formal activity of Urodynamics and Paediatric Urology, and where, from 1996 he was elected Chief of the Urodynamic Unit at the Department of Paediatric Surgery. He completed his training in Urodynamic and Paediatric Urology at GOS Children Hospital of London (1980) and Indianapolis, USA (1982). From 2004 Dr De Gennaro is Head of the Urodynamics and Neurourology Division at the Department of Nephrology & Urology of Bambino Gesù Children Hospital.
Mario De Gennaro’s main interests are in the field of paediatric urology, urodynamics and urinary incontinence in children. He developed diagnostic techniques in neurophysiology, and surgical procedures for urinary incontinence, especially for neuropathic bladder, with strict professional contacts among the urological and urogynecological world.
He is currently President of the Italian Urodynamics Society and vice-President of the Italian Foundation on Continence. He is a member of ESPU, EUA, ICCS (Scientific Committee Boards), Board Member of the ICIQ (International Conference on Incontinence Questionnaires) Committee, consulent (paediatric) of the ICI Imaging Committee.
He acts as Editorial Board of Urodynamics and as referee of the Journal of Urology.

John O.L. DeLancey, MD
John O.L. DeLancey, MD is the Norman F. Miller Professor of Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical School and Director of Pelvic Floor Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his BS degree in biology at Oberlin College before attending medical school, completing residency and joining the faculty at the University of Michigan.
In the early 1990’s, Dr. DeLancey and biomechanical engineer James A. Ashton-Miller, Ph D began working together to apply the principles of biomechanical analysis to understanding pelvic floor function and dysfunction. This research has led to advances in fundamental mechanical, integrative and conceptual understanding of pelvic floor that have received numerous national and international awards.
In addition to his research interests, Dr. DeLancey has an active clinical practice specializing in clinical and surgical treatment for refractory problems of pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence where the challenges of attempting to successfully treat patients guides the need for better research, prevention and treatment

Vik Khullar, MD
Dr. Vik Khullar received his medical degree from the University of London in 1988. He completed his research at King’s College Hospital and was subsequently awarded an MD in 2000. He was appointed Senior lecturer at St Marys Hospital, Imperial College after completing subspecialty training in Urogynaecology.
He is a member of many international societies including the European Association of
Urology, International Continence Society, International Urogynecology Association and the British Society of Urogynaecology. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals including Neurourology and Urodynamics, International Journal of Urogynecology and pelvic floor dysfunction.
SYNOPSIS OF AREA OF INTEREST: Dr. Khullar's research interests include imaging of the lower urinary tract, urodynamic investigation and quality of life assessment.

Kirsten B. Kluivers, PhD
Dr Kirsten B. Kluivers graduated eith a degree in medical studies from the Justus von Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. After her medical finals, she returned to the Netherlands and started the formal obstetrics and gynaecology training at the Academic Medical Center, Maastricht, and the Máxima Medical Center, Veldhoven.
Currently she works as a gynaecologist in the field of benign gynaecology and urogynaecology at the Radboud University Medical Center Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She has completed her Ph.D. on laparoscopic hysterectomy in December 2007, and still works on various research projects (in urogynaecology and laparoscopy).
She is the secretary of the Dutch working group on children's and adolescent gynaecology. She is a member of many national and international societies including the International Continence Society (ICS), International Urogynaecology Assiciation (IUGA), European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), and American Association for Gynecological Endoscopy (AAGL).

Andrea Tubaro, MD
Andrea Tubaro is Associate Professor of Urology at the Second School of Medicine of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, Rome, Italy. He is also Clinical Associate in Urology at Sant’Andrea Hospital in Rome, Italy and Head of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit.
After graduating in medicine and surgery in 1983 from “La Sapienza” University of Rome, A/Professor Tubaro completed his postgraduate training program in urology and was certified by the European Board of Urology in 1994. He held the positions of Assistant Professor of Urology at L’Aquila University School of Medicine, L’Aquila, Italy, and Clinical Associate in Urology at G. Mazzini Hospital, Teramo, from 1998–2001, before assuming his current appointments.
Professor Tubaro’s major research interests are focused in four areas: pathophysiology of bladder outlet obstruction, imaging in urinary incontinence, early diagnosis of prostate cancer, and microwave thermotherapy of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Since 2007 he sits in the board of the EAU Foundation for Urological Research and he is responsible for Clinical Registries. He is an active member of many international professional committees and societies. In addition, he serves on the Editorial Board of Neurourology & Urodynamics.

Mark Vierhout, MD, Professor
Professor Mark Vierhout is presently chairman of the department of General and Urogynaecology in the University Medical Centre Nijmegen in The Netherlands. He is the only full professor in urogynaecology in the Netherlands. He trained in Rotterdam and wrote his thesis on a obstetrical subject “Elective induction of labor” in 1983.
He has served both the IUGA and the ICS as member and chairman of various scientific committees. He has been chairman of the Dutch Urogynaecological Society for over 7 years.
He has set up the urogynaecology course for residents in the Netherlands which is now compulsory.
Special fields of interest are pelvic organ prolapse, surgery, urodynamics and imaging.

David B. Vodušek MD, PhD, Professor
Dr. David B. Vodušek received his medical degree from the University of Ljubljana in 1976, where he subsequently worked as a lecturer in Neurology. He completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Clinical Neurophysiology, Ljubljana, in 1982. In 1982 he obtained a Slovenian specialist degree in Neurology. He was appointed as full Professor of Neurology at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1997. Since 2004 he is Head of Chair of Neurology, Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Dr. Vodušek is a member of many international societies including the German Neurological Association, the European Federation of Neurological Societies, the British Association of Clinical Neurophysiology, and the International Continence Society. He serves on the Editorial Board of Neurourology and Urodynamics.
SYNOPSIS OF AREA OF INTEREST: Dr. Vodušek's research interests include uro-neurology, clinical neurophysiology, peripheral neurology.
